Hello Deepak, and thank you for another thought-provoking and inspiring article. Deep down I share the optimism for the opportunity AI provides for humanity. However, if we use history as a guide, we may be disappointed. In my view, AI is just another evolution of technological progress that has been going on for centuries. Each one of these progressions has made our lives easier, and created comfort and slack that we could use to build community at all levels and expand our consciousness. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we are comfortable with space and need to fill it up with busyness. We have chosen to use our spare time on pursuits that are selfish and separating, rather than on those that unite and develop our selves, neighbourhoods, environment and earth. We use the increased control we have in our lives to seek power over more things, rather than choose to seek power with the incredible resources and energy we already have around us. Could it be that the extra time and comfort that AI provides will also be frittered away on narcissistic and hedonistic pursuits? Of course, in balance, there is nothing wrong with this and can invigorate and inspire life. However, it is the excesses of this behaviour that historically have seen us become less human. And so I wonder, with AI free us to get back to our humanity, or will it be used to move us further away from the human spirit?
