In an era where artificial intelligence and robotics evolve at a breathtaking pace, transforming every facet of our lives, many people are beginning to be concerned we are heading towards the science fiction paradigm of grim, dystopian futures dominated by rogue robots. This narrative portrays a future where our creations — beings of silicon and code — turn against us, threatening to usurp humanity’s place at the helm of earthly dominion. It’s a story where the line between the servant and the master blurs, leading to an inevitable clash between human ingenuity and the relentless logic of machines.

Traditionally, the heroes poised to defend humanity in these tales are warriors of steel and flesh, exemplified by cinematic icons like Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hugh Jackman and Will Smith. These heroes battle the artificial enemy with a blend of brute force, cunning, and indomitable human spirit. It is increasingly recognised that in addition to these courageous champions willing to risk their lives for humanity, there would be scientists and programmers aplenty, engaged to defend our species from extinction. Yet, I would like to propose that humanity has a secret weapon in the battle against the bots, and it is a very unlikely group of saviours.
